The Tragic Story of British Singer Duffy, Drugged, Kidnapped, and Raped
A sad story comes from Duffy, a singer from Wales. Duffy reveals that several years ago he was subjected to heinous rape.
Duffy, who previously harbored the story of this case for years, finally reveals his dark story through writing. The singer who is popular through the song Mercy wrote a long story on his personal website.
Reporting from the Duffy Words website, Monday (6/4/2020), Duffy devotes the chronology of his rape case in an article entitled The 5th House. He felt that this was not the right time to share a dark story, but Duffy was unable to hold back the bitterness.
The rape took away her human rights and also affected her music career. Duffy has been on hiatus for quite a while from the music world.
The woman then explained that this article was also intended so that she no longer had to answer a series of questions about what actually happened, which in turn opened her wound again.
He started his story from his birthday party at a restaurant. Duffy is suddenly sedated and then taken abroad for four weeks.
"I didn't want to be on the plane, but was taken by the perpetrator by car. I was lodged at the hotel and the perpetrator came back, raping me," explained Duffy.
"I remember the pain and tried to stay conscious in the room after it happened. I was trapped with the man until the next day, he did not turn to me," he added.
Duffy then tries to escape while the perpetrator is sleeping. However, he was discouraged because he had no money and was afraid that the perpetrator would even call the police and report Duffy as missing.
For some time Duffy was still trapped with the perpetrator. Until the singer was brought back to his own house. Duffy is still silent because the rapist threatened to kill him.
"The perpetrator is still sedating me in my own house for four weeks. I don't know if he raped me during that period," said Duffy.
After everything had happened and the perpetrator had left, someone Duffy knew saw him pensive on the balcony wrapped in a blanket.
"That person said that I looked like a dead person," he said.
The singer, who won the 2008 Grammy Awards, is still afraid to go to the police. He was afraid that if he made the wrong move, he would be killed by the perpetrator.
Finally, Duffy dared to report to the two female police officers, after several times experiencing another incident that threatened him.
When complaining, Duffy even asked the police not to reveal the identity of the perpetrator. The singer is still afraid that his life will be threatened.
Duffy is really down because of this heinous case. He was finally able to get up again after seeing a psychologist months after reporting to the police.
"I feel lucky to have met this psychologist. Without him, I might not have survived. My condition at that time was at high risk of committing suicide," said Duffy.
The woman from Wales can live her life today while continuing to heal old wounds. He was relieved to finally be able to share his story with the public about what had happened over the past decade.
"Now I can leave that dark decade behind. I hope no one else asks 'what happened to Duffy'. Now you know, and I am free," wrote Duffy at the end of his story.
In his prime, Duffy has sung at various music festivals in various countries. Quoted from the Daily Mail, this woman started her career in 2007.
His name became more famous after releasing the single Mercy in 2008. His album, titled Rockferry, even sold 1.6 million copies. But entering 2011, Duffy suddenly declared a hiatus from the music world.
