Relatives blame doctors for the death of a 32-year-old pregnant woman from Gyumri
Aravot.am writes ․ On January 5, 32-year-old Mary Torosyan from Gyumri, who was 30 weeks pregnant, was being treated for coronavirus at St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital in Yerevan.
She was going to give birth for the second time ․ He has an 11-year-old son. Mary has been working as a judicial bailiff since 2009 in the Gyumri branch of the Court of First Instance of the Shirak Region Court of First Instance. Her husband, Arthur Palyan, and sister, Seda Hakobyan, blame the doctors for Mary's death, noting that they treated her inhumanely, negligently, and did not provide proper medical care.
Mary Torosyan was taken from Gyumri by ambulance to St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital on December 22 ․ Pregnant women infected with coronavirus are treated exclusively there.
Seda Hakobyan, who has been taking care of her pregnant sister in the hospital since December 27, told Aravot.am the following ․ "Mary was admitted to St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital with a fever of 37․2, the saturation was normal - 95, she went on her feet and hands. On the first day, no one approached him, they did not provide any medical assistance.
Even at night, when he had a fever and asked for medicine, no one approached him. In the morning, when we talked to him and he said this, we called the hotline. We informed about what is happening inside the hospitals ․ There is no one who approaches a pregnant woman and gives her medicine, even when she wants it with her mouth. After our call to the hotline, all the doctors approached and started treating.
Mary had given up CT scans, which needed to be done immediately. They determined by sonography that Mary had bilateral pneumonia, but we did not know the extent of her lung damage.
We later found out that my sister did not agree with CT. Even if she refused, couldn't you contact your relatives, say that your pregnant woman refused, what treatment should we give when we do not know what percentage of the lungs are damaged? When my sister's temperature rose to 40 degrees, it was very bad, they then told Mary that nothing else was possible and took her to the CT.
Of course, I do not know how they got to the computed tomography room, when, according to Mary, the oxygen supply was low and the hospital did not have oxygen when transporting her. When transferred to CT, oxygen was depleted ․ It was always the same story in that hospital. They did a CT scan and informed us that the lungs were 75% damaged.
My sister has been in the hospital since the 22nd of the month, on the 27th of the month it turned out that the lungs were 75% damaged. When he went to the hospital on the first day, he was fine, in fact, they did not start normal treatment ․ "They moved by Mary's will, it was one thing for them what would happen," said Seda Hakobyan.
He said that on December 27, when he started taking care of Mary, as her condition was no longer good, he saw that it was very cold in the hospital room. It has further complicated the condition of the patient with pneumonia. According to Seda, on December 28-30, her sister's condition improved, the treatment was normal, but, according to our interlocutor, the hospital, being specialized in the treatment of pregnant women, surprisingly did not have a gynecologist on duty. "At night, the hospital did not have a gynecologist on duty, it only had a doctor.
When Mary started having pains on January 3, they were labor pains, again there was no gynecologist. We had to wait until the morning for the gynecologist to come. They only told the gynecologist over the phone, this place hurts, that place hurts. I do not know what the gynecologist answered on the phone, but you had to wait until the morning came. "They had one gynecologist in the whole hospital," said Seda Hakobyan.
